Granola is one of the most favored of current trending meals in the world. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Granola is something which I have loved my whole life.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook granola using 22 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Granola:
  1. Get "dry ingredients"
  2. Prepare 7 cups old fashioned oats
  3. Make ready 1 cup wheat bran
  4. Get 1 cup flax meal
  5. Prepare "flavorings"
  6. Make ready 1/4 cup canola, coconut or olive oil
  7. Prepare 1/4 cup applesauce
  8. Prepare 1/2 cup brown or raw sugar
  9. Take 1/2 cup honey or agave
  10. Get 1/2 cup water
  11. Get 2 teaspoons turmeric
  12. Take 1 tablespoon vanilla, maple or almond extract
  13. Take 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  14. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  15. Take 1 teaspoon salt
  16. Make ready "nuts, seeds & fruits"
  17. Get 1 cup broken walnuts
  18. Make ready 1 cup broken pecans
  19. Prepare 1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  20. Get 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
  21. Take 1 cup chopped dates
  22. Take 1 cup raisins or dried cranberries
Instructions to make Granola:
  1. Preheat oven to 275° F or 135° C
  2. Mix oats, bran & flax in a large roasting pan.
  3. Whisk the "flavorings" together and then drizzle over the oat mixture. Stir until evenly moist.
  4. Bake for 1-1/2 hours – stirring every 15 minutes.
  5. After the third stirring, add the "nuts, seeds & fruits".
  6. Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
  8. NOTE: I have experimented with the balance and quantities of the fats and sugars. As I reduced the fat, the texture went from crunchy to chewy. I did not have success with less than 1/4 cup of fat. I have also sometimes replaced the more processed sugars with unsweetened frozen juice concentrate.
  9. Serving size - 1/4 cup
